Teacher charged following alleged sexual assault – Southern Highlands

A teacher will appear in court today charged over the sexual assault of a student in Bowral last year.

On Monday, October 23, 2017, police received information that a 17-year-old female student had been sexually assaulted by a male teacher in Colo Vale on Friday, March 31, 2017.

Detectives from The Hume Police District started an investigation culminating in the arrest of a 37-year-old man on Thursday.

He was taken to Southern Highlands Police Station where he was charged with aggravated indecent assault (person in authority) (x2), aggravated indecent assault (person in authority) (x3) and sexual intercourse with child between 16 and 18 under special care.

He was refused bail and will appear in Goulburn Local Court today.
