Council will discuss and consider a number of items, including: donation/sponsorship requests for July-December 2018, the rollout of a 360L recycling bin for Cooma residents, and the possible installation of banner poles in towns and villages to improve their visual amenity.
The Council meeting won’t be live streamed. If you’re interested in coming along, the meeting starts at 5pm and the Business Paper is available on Council’s website.
Last week, I joined General Manager Joe Vescio and Director of Corporate and Community Services Peter Cannizzaro to inspect a new aged care facility in Kiama. We were invited by the Kiama Municipal Council to meet with key staff and discuss the way Kiama Council operates their residential aged care facility called Bluehaven.
I was impressed with their current setup, and enjoyed the tour of the new integrated retirement complex. Their innovative and visionary approach was something our Council can take note of.
As I have mentioned in previous weeks, a number of Stronger Communities Fund Major Projects are out for public consultation.
Locals are encouraged to visit the Your Say platform and provide feedback on concept designs for Adaminaby and Berridale playgrounds.
There are two concept designs on public exhibition for each site. Locals are able to select their preferred design and provide further comments. While on the Your Say platform, you can have your say on the concept designs for nine streetscape projects. These projects will improve the economic and social viability of our region’s towns and villages.
