FoE’s president Deb Foskey said a guest speaker will put our Snowy River National Park in an Australian context.
“The Snowy National Park is one link in the Australian Alps system of national parks which crosses several borders. We are honoured to have as our guest speaker John McRae, the Program Manager of the Australian Alp National Parks Co-Operative management program.
“He works with the Australian Alps liaison committee to assess and fund projects that bring cross border benefits for the Australian Alps.
“John also works to increase public awareness and appreciation of the Australian Alps.
“We will hear how the program works. What are the major threats to the ecology of the Alps? How tourists impact the Alps? What are the major pest plants and animals and which species are endangered?” she said.
