Water supply will be maintained, however, at a reduced pressure from Monday, October 1 to assist council in reducing the water level in the reservoir prior to cleaning.
The water supply will NOT be treated on October 3 and 4 and consumers are requested to reduce water usage during this period to ensure continued supply.
Consumers are advised to boil all drinking water from 7am on October 3 until 5pm on October 4.
Water used for drinking or food preparation should be brought to a rolling boil to make it safe. Kettles with automatic shut off switches can do this. Water should then be allowed to cool and stored in a clean container with a lid and refrigerated.
Cooled boiled water should be used for drinking, washing uncooked food (e.g. salad vegetables and fruit), making ice, cleaning teeth, gargling and pet’s water. Dishes should be washed in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher.
Council apologises for any inconvenience this work may cause.
Any inquiries can be directed to council on 1300 345 345.
