Spring clean, conquer your clutter this Garage Sale Trail
• 88 per cent of Aussies have at least one cluttered room
• Australia’s biggest garage sale, Garage Sale Trail, is happening in communities across Australia on 20 and 21 October
• Average household has $4,200 in unwanted items, and a staggering 50 per cent admit to throwing these unwanted items away.
Garage Sale Trail started in Bondi Beach in 2010 with support from Waverley Council.
Today, it’s an event powered by 148 councils nationally, with 400,000 Australians anticipated to list more than 2 million items for sale and reuse at over 15,000 garage sales and stalls across the country this year.
“We’re incredibly proud to be one of the 148 councils who support the Garage Sale Trail and the positive impacts it fosters in communities across the nation,” Snowy Monaro Regional Council mayor John Rooney said.
“There was a fantastic response from our community last year for the Garage Sale Trail, and this year we hope even more garage sales are held.“
