This inaugural event included guests from the Cooma Country Women’s Association (CWA), Monaro Craft Group and multicultural groups within our region.
Here in the Snowy Monaro, we are fortunate to have many rural women working tirelessly to strengthen their communities.
It was appropriate that on Tuesday, following the International Day of Rural Women, the CWA Monaro Group met for their Annual General Meeting in Jerangle.
I had the pleasure of addressing the CWA members in attendance, and was able to thank them for their hard work in their respective communities.
On Wednesday night, the first of the Business Boost Workshops will be held.
Starting in Cooma, the free workshops are aimed at all small business owners.
With a bumper summer season approaching, business owners will learn to grow their business and conquer the digital world.
Small business marketing expert, and a regular on Channel 7’s Kochie’s Business Builders – Linda Hailey – will provide tips for your business to succeed.
Workshops will follow in Bombala on Thursday, October 25 and in Jindabyne on Tuesday, October 30.
For further details please visit Council’s website or contact Council on 1300 345 345.
This weekend, Snowy Monaro residents will be able to grab a bargain and join thousands from across the nation for the Garage Sale Trail.
There are close to 40 sales happening in our region for the two-day extravaganza on Saturday and Sunday.
Reusing or selling items you no longer want at a garage sale is a terrific way to do your bit for the environment and a great way to meet the neighbours.
The social nature of the day, together with the remarkable items that are unleashed from the sheds, attics and garages across our region, makes the Garage Sale Trail a wonderful event.
For a list of the sales in the Snowy Monaro, head along to http://www.garagesaletrail.com.au.
Snowy Monaro Regional Council also reminds users of the Coolumbooka Bridge of works causing delays.
