The weather held off until the end of race three, when the wind got colder and the fog moved in and fashionably dressed ladies were forced to run for shelter and warmer clothing.
The Fashions on the Field were noticeably different to previous year’s with changes to the way the event was held and missing former sponsor Joseph Jones Racing and Bombala’s queen of racing Barb Jones.
The changes to the way the fashions were to be held were largely unpublished and if punters weren’t keeping an eye on the Bombala Jockey Club Facebook page, fashionista’s would have been unaware of the change in format.
This year only six people in each section of the fashions were selected by unknown judges from the hundreds of well dressed people at the races to be finalists of the Fashions on the Field which unlike previous years were modeled on the track.
