However, now he’s going to be on the other side of the clipboard, appointed recently as a judge for the Group 6 Show Society.

Mr Reynolds said he has been on the circuit for many years, was the most successful exhibitor at the Cooma Show for eight years running, and at Dalgety and Nimmitabel Shows multiple times as well.

“I keep entering because I want to help keep the shows running,” he said.

“When I heard they were getting short of judges, I put my name down.”

Mr Reynolds said he received recommendations to be added as a judge from Cooma, Nimmitabel and Dalgety Show Societies, as well as from the late Ray Sawtell, a stalwart of the Cobargo Show.

He said he can now judge at shows across the Monaro and South Coast when required.

“I just want to let the people know I’m available and only too willing to travel,” Mr Reynolds said.

Mr Reynolds’ love for all vegetables will remain at the fore, but he can no longer enter exhibits at any show at which he is to judge.

Given his string of successes, that may be good news for other local growers hoping for a ribbon!
