At Remembrance Day services across the Snowy Monaro, we paused to remember the sacrifices of the servicemen and servicewomen who have served our nation, in all conflicts.
At 11am, hundreds of locals gathered across the region to reflect on the impacts of the First World War both at home and abroad.
Cooma Library is hosting an exhibition this week to commemorate the armistice. Displays, talks, and biographical information of local servicemen are on display until Saturday.
Another year, and another wonderful fundraiser hosted by the Monaro Committee for Cancer Research (mcCr). The mcCr’s garden party was held on Saturday with more than 500 people in attendance.
Through the hard work of the mcCr committee and the generosity of those in attendance, important funds were raised to help people with cancer and their families. I would like to congratulate the mcCr committee for their fundraising efforts over many years.
The Michelago Spring Fair was held on Sunday with fair-goers enjoying a taste of rural life. The Michelago Region Community Association and Michelago Rural Fire Brigade organised yet another successful spring fair.
International Day of People with a Disability will be celebrated in Cooma with the Celebrate Ability Festival on Friday 7 December from 2pm-6pm. This is an opportunity to help break down disability barriers and celebrate abilities.
