Last year’s bike show was cancelled at the last minute due to heavy rain, so organisers were hoping the weather wouldn’t let them down again this year, and it didn’t.
“It was a great show, very successful,” Darren Cotterill said.
“I can’t say exactly how many people went through the gate, but we had a good crowd of really well behaved visitors, with everyone seeming like they were having a good time.
“There were more campers than ever on the Friday night and they were happily entertained by the local musical duo Frock’n’Troll.
“We had three bands playing on Saturday night – Mojo from Bombala, Vinyl Rain from Cooma and Rock or Be Rocked from Canberra had people dancing and enjoying themselves.
“The firework display on Saturday night was a first for us and it went off really well,” he said.
Mr Cotterill went on to say the pro-burnout demonstration between a V8 drag bike and a turbo charged street bike really drew a big crowd of people.
“We held the burnout just on dusk and with the lights and music, it was certainly a spectacular sight,” he said.
The show included all the usual entertainment – burnouts, the kids airbrush tattoo competition and the tyre toss.
Always a hit at the Bombala Bike Show is the raffle for a brand new Harley Davidson low rider.
The winner was John Weeks from Dubbo.
“He wasn’t at the show but he was very excited to have won the bike,” Mr Cotterill said.
Second prize in the raffle a $1000 voucher from EasyR was won by John Keavey,
“We had 78 bikes in the Show’n’Shine, people can see the winners on our webpage.
“All in all it was a successful weekend and every one was extremely happy.
“I would really like to thank my team that helped me put it all together.
“They worked very hard for a long time and they worked well together making the show the successful event it was,” Mr Cotterill said.
The Bombala Bike Show has been an annual event in Bombala, for the past twenty-seven years.
