Bombala Public School principal, Jo Tozer said it was a first time experience for many students. 

The students visited the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) where they watched a multi-media presentation on the beginnings of democracy in Australia and then worked in groups and held a mock-election.

“Students were polling place officers, vote counters, guards and scrutineers that supervised the vote counting. The students learned about the tally process and the distribution of preferences in an action-packed time at the AEC.

“It was an enjoyable day learning about our parliament,” Mrs Tozer said.
