Roads will close in the Snowy Mountains this Saturday, December 1 for the L’Etape Australia cycling event.

Up to 4500 cyclists will take part in a 170km ride from 6.30am or a 108km ride from 8.30am.
Both rides will start and finish at Banjo Patterson Park in Jindabyne and travel through Rocky Plain, Berridale, Dalgety and Beloka. The 170km ride will continue on to Perisher before returning to Jindabyne.
Roads around the start area will close from 5am. Roads around Jindabyne will start reopening around 10.30am, and all roads are expected to reopen by 5.45pm.
Roads that will be closed include Eucumbene Road and Rocky Plains Road through Rocky Plain; Dalgety Road between Berridale and Dalgety; The Snowy River Way between Dalgety and Barry Way, and Kosciuszko Road between Perisher and East Jindabyne.
Motorists travelling west from Berridale to Jindabyne will be diverted via Dalgety between 5am and 6.30am. After 6.30am, there will be no access to Jindabyne until roads reopen around Berridale at 12.15pm.
Motorists travelling east from Thredbo and Perisher will be able to access Jindabyne under traffic control on Kosciuszko Road at Alpine Way between 1am and 6.15pm on the day of the event.
Speed limits will be reduced to 40km/h at key locations approaching the course including Kosciuszko Road at East Jindabyne, Jindabyne Road in Berridale and Barry Way in Moonbah.
