Bombala Bowling Club hosted their January Carnival over the weekend with 84 teams attending from around the region, south coast and Canberra.

President of Bombala Bowling Club Greg Griggs said he would like to thank the sponsors of Bombala January Carnival – Monaro Logging, Forestry NSW and Jamie Bobcats.
Winners were A grade: Adaminiby with runners-up Bombala. Winner B Grade: Bombala, runners-up Tathra. Winners and runners-up of C Grade were Eden. D grade winner Cooma, runners-up Bombala
“Bombala Bowling Club would like to thank all the participants for a great a couple of days of bowling and their support of the raffles,” Mr Grigg said.
At the end of the Bombala Carnival president Greg Griggs was presented a golden microphone by district president Kel Ducomb for his great work and entertaining way of presenting the raffles.
“It was a great way to finish a great weekend,” Mr Griggs said.
Golf
It was a good weekend for golf for Bombala golfers and that continue to have good roll ups to fight it out for a Chicken win.
Saturday was a 9 Hole Chicken Run and some good scores were recorded.
Brad Yelds had a good round winning with 23 points closely followed by Joel Cherry and Nick Ryan on 22 pts.
Sunday a much cooler day there was a good field. Brendan Weston had another good round winning again with 43 points.
Runner up to Westy was Wayne Elton also having a good day out. Wayne had 41 points.
Chicken Runs for next weekend. Saturday - 18 Holes and Sunday - 9 Holes.
A Reminder to all Open Day is on Sunday, February 10. Pennants start on Saturday, February 16.

Oz Day Mini-Triathlon
Australia Day celebrations in Bombala include the annual mini-triathlon for teams of three only. There are categories for different age groups including an event for youngsters.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a team of three with teams being able to be formed on the day.
The action starts at 9am at the Bombala Swimming Pool with the swim leg followed by the running leg around the Bombala walking track and a cycling leg around Apex Park.
Registration takes place from 8am at the pool on the day. Entry fees are $5 per person and open teams $10 per person.
Bike helmets must be worn for the cycling leg.
