The Member for Monaro John Barilaro said anyone can nominate a community champion or community group from the Monaro electorate, as a way of saying thank you for the work they perform in the local community.

“We are looking for people who go above and beyond; those quiet achievers who make the community they live in a better place,” Mr Barilaro said .
“Previous award winners have contributed significantly in areas such as the arts, sport, education, pastoral care, health, the environment, emergency services and much more.
“We are also calling for nominations for community groups; previous winners have included meals on wheels, local church groups, community radio stations and local charities.”
With over two million volunteers in NSW, Mr Barilaro said he’s looking forward to receiving nominations and hearing about local heroes.
