Bombala cricketers took on Dalgety in a must-win game at Nimmitabel. Dalgety won the toss and chose to bat getting of to a solid yet cautious start.

Bartle and Stead blunted the attack before Stead (7) was removed by Power (2/10). Bartle was removed shortly after LBW to Power leaving visitors at 2/24.
All credit to Dalgety for such a close game while playing one short.

Willsmer and Elliot went about rebuilding the innings. Willsmer the aggressor was taking to the bowling, playing some beautiful lofted straight drives and pouncing on anything short.
He was well supported by Elliot (14) before he held out to mid off off Sullivan (1/59) just before drinks.
Freebody and Willsmer put together a well constructed 69 run stand before Willsmer looking to up the scoring rate was caught off the bowling of Adams for a well made 83.
Wickets began to fall in quick succession with Freebody being run out for 15. Some late order hitting from Ross (21) took Dalgety’s score to 178 all out.
Bombala began the chase very aggressively with M Tonks and Adams taking on the Dalgety bowlers going at 10 an over before Tonks (9) was run out.
Adams continued his aggressive approach with some fine lofted shots.
Brad Tonks playing his natural game of putting away anything short and playing some very delicate shots behind the wicket.
Adams bought up his 50 but was removed shortly after for 52 bowled by Freebody (3/44).
Bombala’s run chase began to stall losing three quick wickets. Thornton remained solid putting away anything loose.
Sullivan and Thornton steadied the ship before Sullivan (10) was removed. Power and Thornton took the game away from Dalgety the pair putting on a crucial 29 run stand before
Thornton (36) was removed 8 runs shy of victory.
Pratt and Power remained at the crease seeing Bombala home with 3 wickets still in the shed.
Bombala retained the Nimmitabel Shield and look forward to continuing this tradition in the future.
