There were many competitors which led to some friendly rivalry between the three schools – Bombala, Delegate and hosting school St Josephs.
All schools said it was good to see competitors encouraging swimmers from other schools during the races.
The overall champion on the day was Killarney House from Bombala Public. The Swimming Handicap Shield was claimed by Penola from St Joseph’s.
Individual champions included Bombala’s Maicey Ross for junior girl champion; Brandy Crotty was awarded the senior girls champion and Deakin Ross the senior boy champion.
For St Joseph’s it was Ari Sten as 11-year-old boy chmapion, Mabel Tucker 11-year-old girl champion and Torin Hillyer junior boy champion.
Bombala PS thanked the volunteers for helping with time keeping on the day, while host school St Joseph’s extended thanks to all the staff, students, parent volunteers, Bombala and Delegate Public Schools for their support of this wonderful event.
“Congratulations to all students who competed and best of luck to those students who are off to Narooma this Thursday to compete at the Southern Region Swimming Carnival,” a St Josephs spokesperson said.
