Snowy Monaro Regional councillors joined community members, council staff, and the company constructing the amenities building, Full on Constructions, at the site in Bombala’s CBD.
The project will provide public toilets in Bombala’ main thoroughfare, Maybe Street and will be delivered through the Stronger Communities Fund (SCF) Major Projects Program.
Following community consultation in April and May of 2018, the building’s concept designs were adopted by council.
The amenities building which will be home to a male, female and parent's room facility will provided an extra reason for tourists to stop in Bombala’s main street.
Designed by a professional architect, and in consultation with a heritage adviser, the amenities building will maintain the town’s heritage appeal.
Located at 142-146 Maybe Street, the building will make efficient use of the narrow block of land.
The new toilets will come as welcomed news for visitors stopping in town.
