There was a great turnout for the Cooma Multicultural Festival on Sunday with our community coming together to celebrate and embrace the many wonderful cultures here in the Snowy Monaro.

The festival showcased a wonderful array of international performers and cuisine. The event was made possible through the Cooma Multicultural Centre, Cooma Rotary Club, and Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

The Centennial Park playground was officially unveiled on Sunday. The playground has become a favourite amongst local families with hundreds of children already enjoying the new equipment.
Representatives from Snowy Valleys Council, Snowy Hydro, and multiple state government departments visited the Snowy Monaro last week as part of a tour to better understand the challenges and opportunities Snowy 2.0 presents.
Our region is preparing for an increase in heavy vehicle movements and a greater demand for housing/rental accommodation.
I was encouraged by the enthusiasm shown by senior state government officials who will assist Council in ensuring the region is ready to take advantage of Snowy 2.0.
Last week, a sod-turning ceremony was held to mark the start of construction for the Bombala amenities building.
The amenities building will provide public toilets in Bombala's CBD.
