Organiser Su King said, "Ducks are $10 each and are available for purchase at the Delegate Cafe, Delegate General Store, Old Delegate Post Office and on the day at Bill Jeffrey Park.

"We have enough entries for two races and possibly even three by Good Friday with a funds raised going to Delegate Public School."

"We are also seeking entries for the Kids Boat Race where youngsters are invited to make their own boats out of recyclable materials to race on the day and there will be a variety of games that both adults and children can participate in throughout the afternoon.

"There may even be a Treasure Hunt - with a twist," Ms King said.

A new novelty at Friday's Duck Race is the inaugural Funky Furniture competition where folk are invited to bring along their Funky Furniture and perhaps win a prize.

More information about Funky Furniture can be obtained from Karen Cash at the Old Delegate Post Office who is holding Funky Frame workshops at the Old Post Office shop during the school holidays.

Ms King said they had a variety of prizes with $250 for the winner of the Duck Race and random prizes on the day as well.

There are also loads of wood and gift vouchers for prizes and Ms King said anyone wanting to contribute a prize to the races should contact her on 6458 8315.

"We will have the Kitchen Eight Ate food van on site serving their gourmet delights and the Bill Jeffrey cob oven will be fired up on the day for those families wishing to bring along the ingredients to make a pizza," Ms King said.

"There will also be market stalls at the park on Good Friday with an invitation to other vendors to come along and join in too. Stall holders are very welcome, we have loads of space," she said.​
