I had the honour of presenting the Mayor's Award for Overall Outstanding Achievement to Rylie Marks. Rylie is involved in many community focussed pursuits; a few include the Snowy Monaro Youth Council, Rotary Youth Group 'Interact', and St Vinnies.
The Youth Awards are an excellent way of recognising the hard work and contribution of young people. Across the night, 12 awards were handed out.
Councillor James Ewart, who chairs the Youth Council, did a fantastic job as MC. The Youth Council once again showcased their talents in organising the event.
On Wednesday night, Snowy Monaro Regional Council will meet for our monthly Ordinary Council Meeting. The meeting will be held in the Cooma Council Chambers from 5pm.
The Easter long weekend is set to bring thousands of visitors to our towns and villages. The 2019 Jindabyne Lake Light Sculpture has a record number of entries with 140 exhibits set to line the Lake Jindabyne foreshore. Council is proud to sponsor the event. Jindabyne Lions Club is hosting the Easter Art Show and Sale at the Memorial Hall.
Families are set for a great day out at the Delegate Duck Race on Good Friday and the Adaminaby and Berridale Easter Fairs on Saturday.
Take care on the roads and drive to the conditions. I wish you and your family a safe and happy Easter.
