Organisers are anticipating a total of around 30 entries and entries are open to 5pm Thursday, May 23. All entrants can expect a minimum of four x 1 km runs.
A star entrant in the March event was Ralph Pauperis from Anglers Reach in his historic MG TC Milano.
Ralph started well and recorded a credible 54.97s for his second run, only to lose a wheel on his third run due to fatigue failure of a stub axle.
Ralph's Milano is an historic racer with an interesting history.
The MG TC was manufactured in England from 1945 to 1949, and Ralph's TC started started its life as a 'square rigger' that was raced extensively in northern NSW using methanol and a supercharger.
It was involved in a racing accident and was then acquired by Owen Maguire of Alstonville who fitted the Milano body and raced it in the early 1960's as a naturally aspirated 1500cc.
The streamlined Milano body was based on a Ferrari Monza and constructed by JWF Glass-Fibre Industries (Australia).
Ralph discovered and restored the car in 1983 and has raced it at many historic race meetings around Australia.
The car holds the under 1500cc LB Sports Racing track record for the Oran Park Short Circuit. This is a beautiful, 1960s style racer that looks and sounds the part.
Another interesting entry is Daniel Matthews returning with his Peugeot 206 GTi180 that has been upgraded to Type 4 (sports sedan) specification.
This was already a fast car when Daniel won the Type 1-2 1601-2000cc class competition at Mount Gladstone in November 2017, with a best recorded a time of 45.53s.
