In a rugby league game held at Bombala's home turf on Sunday, the team went home with its fifth win in a row after coming out on top from a close match over the Roosters, 30-26.
Roosters coach Scott Barton said a bit of luck went the way of his opponents, but he also gave Bombala credit, saying they played a good game.
It was a tightly-fought match, as the game started going the way of the Heelers first, then swung back towards the Roosters before the home team edged out in front again.
While Barton had hoped the Roosters would have taken home the win, he said his team remained positive.
Bombala Blue Heelers Rugby League Club president Col Ryan said, "The first grade game was pretty close exciting game with both teams being quite even, before Bombala took the lead.
"Near the end of the game it was 30 to 20 in our favour and then Bega scored a try and converted it and the final score was 30 to 26 in Bombala's favour.
"The game has moved Bombala into third position on the season's ladder, where they sit on 19 points while Bega still sits at the top on 24."
Players Player went to Tyler Jones 3 points, Teviata Badago 2 points, and Jo Mayato 1 point.
Ryan went on to say that Bega were just far too good in the league tag for the Bombala women with Bega winning 24 nil.
"Bega Chick, Alarna Dunnett scored four tries for Bega, she was way too fast for the Bombala girls," Ryan said.
Players player points for the High Heelers went to Carter Hampshire 3, Patrice Clear 2 and Sam Stewart 1.
President Ryan went on to say that both the first grade and reserve grade games were both quite exciting and competitive games.
"Reserves game was a really close game but Bega scored in the second half and got away from the Heelers winning 32 to 16."
Players Player: Nat Jennings 3 points, Raymond Kading 2 and Charlie Peisley 1.
