On Monday morning Ms Cloke's son, Jonathan Dick, was arrested in Melbourne CBD following an assault involving two other men.
For 19 months Jonathan Dick has been on the run, wanted for the alleged violent murder of Ms Cloke's other son, David Dick.
Police were called to a car park on the corner of Flinders St and Hosier Lane shortly before 7.50am on Monday following reports two men had restrained a third man.
It's believed an assault occurred and all three parties suffered injuries.
Victoria Police said the exact circumstances leading up to the incident were yet to be determined, but they believed at least one of the men was known to Jonathan Dick.
The 41-year-old was arrested in relation to the existing warrant for murder and conveyed to hospital under police guard, police said.
The two other men are assisting with inquiries.
In a statement issued through Victoria Police, Ms Cloke, who now lives in the Merimbula area, said she was "overwhelmed" that Jonathan had been found.
"I would like to thank everyone who has given me so much support over the past two and a half years, particularly my family and friends," Ms Cloke said.
"To those family and friends who have tried to contact me today, I will call when I feel able to. I'm overwhelmed by the news this morning that my son has been found. All I ever wanted was for him to be found alive and I feel comfort in that," she said.
"I would also like to thank Victoria Police who have always been here for me and kept me updated. I have never felt alone during this because of their support," she added.
Police said Jonathan Dick had been conveyed to hospital for treatment following the assault on Monday morning.
The news has prompted concern by some of Ms Cloke's Sapphire Coast friends, but also a feeling that there may be closure in the future for what has been an unbelievably tragic series of events.
