Bombala Anglican open garden day hailed a success by organisers | PHOTOS

The Anglican Parish of the Southern Monaro Open Garden Day was held on Saturday with 215 people touring five of the areas beautiful gardens.

Locals and visitors to the area visited the award winning North Burnima garden of Kathy and Alan Gillespie-Jones before moving on to the historic Burnima Homestead. Burnima's old world Victorian garden is full of trees imported from every part of the world.

Sharon and Robert Hampshire's garden in Bombala was next up with visitors enjoying the attractive garden containing lots of quirky pieces before visiting Ned and Annie Cater's mid Victorian Redcliffe garden created in the late '40's by Annie's parents.

The Bombala garden of Pam Roberts was also visited during the day. The garden that was established in 2013 has over 500 roses and countless bulbs growing on an enormous block.

A picnic luncheon prepared by volunteers was served at St. Matthias' Bombala with the Parish thanking everyone who contributed to the day.
