Two people have died and three others suffered serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash on the Snowy Mountains Highway on Friday.

About 3pm on Friday, emergency services were called to the Snowy Mountain Highway, Adaminaby, northwest of Cooma, after reports a silver Honda CRV travelling east and a grey Mitsubishi Pajero travelling west had a head-on collision.
The driver, a 72-year-old man, and front passenger, a 75-year-old man, of the Honda died at the scene.
Two rear passengers in the Honda, both 75-year-old men, suffered critical injuries.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 35-year-old woman, sustained a suspected fractured right leg. She was taken to Canberra Hospital for treatment.
Three children in the back seat of the Mitsubishi were uninjured.
Officers from Monaro Police District established a crime scene and started investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
