Bombala freezes on the first day of summer

The first day of summer arrived on Sunday with Bombala residents waking up to a chilly -2 degrees and for gardeners who were not expecting a frost it was devastating.

Gardeners that hadn't taken precautions against frost were dismayed to find plants in their garden damaged by frost with the top temperature for Sunday reaching a cool 14 degrees with very little rainfall recorded.

Spring 2019 was officially the driest of the Bureau of Meteorology's 120 years of rainfall records.
