"Early last week Minister Shelley Hancock announced that the Gundagai and Tumbarumba demerge petitions were valid and that the matters would be referred to the Boundaries Commission for official examination," a spokesperson for Save Bombala Inc said.
"This is the next step toward demerging and comes after the government had sat on the petitions for many months.
"Buoyed by this policy change, Save Bombala Inc will now formerly submit the local demerge petition to Minister Hancock for consideration.
"In order to give residents one last chance to sign up, Save Bombala Inc will have a table at the Bombala Street party on Friday, December 13 with petition forms ready to sign on the night.
"Anyone who is unsure if they have signed up already can check on the night."
Even though Save Bombala have already collected sufficient signatures they want to give all residents the opportunity to make their mark on the future of local council.
