"With the absence of an Aussies Rules footy club in Bombala, we inviting anyone with a love of the game, that would like to play, to head down the mountain and join the Pambula Club.
"We currently, and have for years, fielded all grades of players from four junior teams, women's and Div 1 and 2 teams," he said.
The Pambula Panthers have been part of SCAFL since 1983 when they won the 1983 Lightening Premiership Cup.
"We want to be able to offer Bombala students the opportunity to play AFL, given that we are just over the mountain.
"We like to think of ourselves as a family club, focusing on families and retaining families," Hammond said.
"Over the years we have had a strong affiliation with Pambula Public School through Andrew Wright and John Wenzcel who have been running the AFL program every year for years.
"Our senior grades are mostly made up from juniors who have come up through the ranks. In fact, when we won the 2015 premiership 18 of the 20 division 1 players came through the Panthers juniors," he said.
Depending on the age of the player, training is either one or two nights per week, with footy on Saturday.
"Thursday night is 'Grub Night' where we feed the kids with a cooked meal as part of the family club thing. It makes it much easier for parents with meals included," Hammond said.
The Pambula Panthers have a really strong committee this year made up from three past presidents - Glen Baker, Tim Shepard and Bryan Hammond who has come back on board in his second stint as president.
"We also have some very experienced people involved in the club including Ian Tucker who was heavily involved with the Cooma Cats for a number of years and Nick Cooke who has played and now has two sons playing. They are joined by players Jono Di Denato and Tayla Wilson.
"This year SCAFL is also bringing in an Under 15 girl's comp as well."
