The fire on Big Jack Mountain Rd, Rocky Hall has been downgraded to Watch and Act, but remains out of control.
Current Situation
A fire is burning in the area of Big Jack Mountain and Rocky Hall in the Bega Valley LGA. It has burnt out more than 240ha.
Conditions are easing across the fireground.
Advice
If you in the area of Mount Darragh, Rocky Hall or Wyndham, monitor conditions.
Know what you will do if the fire threatens.
UPDATE, 3.30pm:
A fire is burning in the area of Big Jack Mountain and Rocky Hall.
Strong north-westerly winds are being experienced.
Properties in the area of Mount Darragh, Rocky Hall and Stoves Road may come under threat.
Advice
If you in the area of Mount Darragh, Rocky Hall or Wyndham and your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, leave now before it is too late.
Leave only if the path is clear. Leave towards Pambula.
If you are threatened by fire
Do not be in the path of the fire.
Protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Wear protective clothing and footwear. Cover all exposed skin.
If the fire impacts, seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.

An emergency warning is in place for a bush fire burning in the area of Big Jack Mountain in the Bega Valley area. The fire is spreading quickly and is out of control.
Strong north-westerly winds are being experienced.
Properties in the area of Mount Darragh, Rocky Hall and Stoves Road may come under threat.
Bega Valley Shire Council has announced that the Emergency Operation Centre has resumed operations and the showground at Bega is now open again as an evacuation centre.

The bushfire at Rocky Hall has now escalated to Emergency level
An emergency warning is in place for a bush fire burning in the area of Big Jack Mountain in the Bega Valley area. The fire is spreading quickly and is out of control.

EARLIER
A bushfire at Rocky Hall escalated to Watch and Act status on Thursday morning.
The NSW Rural Fire Service said about 10.30am the 5ha fire was on Big Jack Mountain Rd and was burning out of control.
Rocky Hall is south west of Candelo and north west of Wyndham.
