We will do what we can, but bushfire behaviour will increase.
- NSW RFS spokesperson
The 2800 hectare Creewah fire is currently burning out of control at Glen Allen, with weather conditions expected to deteriorate later this week.
The RFS said on Tuesday the fire has been heading in a westerly direction, with crews undertaking containment work in what it described as "very rugged and dry country".
"The fire is likely to spread, so people need to stay up to date," RFS Public Liaison Officer Andrew Dillon said.
"We will do what we can, but bushfire behaviour will increase."
Mr Dillon said locally relevant spot weather forecasts are received from the Bureau of Meteorology for each fire. With north westerly winds expected on Thursday and Friday, Mr Dillon said fire is likely to spread towards the south east.
"People need to be ready for that," he said.
The fire spread quickly on Sunday, due to strong winds and high temperatures, with helicopters supporting firefighters on the ground as they attempted to protect properties. The fire was escalated to an Emergency warning level just after 2pm.
On Monday, authorities predicted the fire would spread and focused on preventing the blaze from threatening properties and making its way to the South East National Park.
Further north, Mr Dillon said the Good Good fire at Mount Numerella, while still burning out of control, has seen remote area firefighters attacking the fire on foot with the help of helicopters.
Fire at Peak View has crossed the Good Good fire trail and extended west, with work continuing with aircraft overhead, he said.
To the west, the RFS said the Orroral fire currently burning out of control within the ACT may spread south east towards Michelago as conditions deteriorate.
They said both the NSW RFS and the ACT RFS are working together to attempt to contain the fire.
