Into the pristine waters with a fishing line in hand!
The club, with a very small committee, has been working around the clock to ensure the upcoming 42nd annual fishing competition goes ahead, as way to get tourists back to the area and also support the many struggling businesses.
This year's event will run from March 7-14, as well as an induction night held on March 6 where all sponsors are promoted and competition rules explained.
Normally attracting hundreds of anglers, families, interstate visitors and locals, young and old to Eden, current feedback indicates this number will increase due to the bushfire disaster with people keen to help the town recover.
"Our objective is to encourage families to get outdoors, socialise and put smiles back on everyone's faces," Eden Amateur Fishing Club said.
"We wish to stay close to our local tourism operators and small businesses in the region, ensuring they have the support they need as they manage the financial and emotional impacts of lost revenue during a traditionally buoyant time."
The EAFC committee has sourced local and out of town sponsors whose generosity has been overwhelming considering their circumstances.
