Tickets for the game have sold out with proceeds to aid rural communities and individuals who've been affected by the drought and bushfires. Those who hold a match ticket are encouraged to download tickets before arriving or to have tickets printed before the game.
Locals and visitors, and those without a match ticket, are encouraged to make use of the live site at George Griffin Oval from noon on Saturday.
The site will include a Kids Zone, Food Stalls, and will show the Panthers-Eels trial on the big screen.
It will also include live entertainment from local artists Sam Stevenson, Matt Glass and the Loose Cannons alongside Amy Shark and Brad Cox from 6.15pm following the trial match.
Both clubs will run school visits, public captain's runs as well as some community engagements in the lead up.
"This game has always been about far more than just footy," NRL CEO Todd Greenberg said.
"It is about bringing locals together as well as encouraging our supporters outside the Sapphire Coast to support the coast region.
"It will be fantastic to see some local artists showcased at the live site and it will also be great to see our players spread throughout the region visiting schools and meeting with those impacted by the bushfires.
"I know how much this trial means to the two Clubs and the players who will be putting on a show on the Saturday.
"The fact that we are sold out highlights the community - and those outside the region - are coming together to support a common cause."
The match will be televised, while Fox Sports are also hosting a special OzTag match Friday afternoon dubbed the 'Fox League Footy For Fires' with proceeds from ticket sales and donations through Ticketek going to the Salvation Army's Rural Assistance Appeal.
The Super Sapphire trial will also include curtain-raiser matches the Andrew Johns Cup and the Laurie Daley Cup, scheduled at 12.05pm and 1.40pm respectively.
The trial is among a number of joint efforts by all governing bodies of the game to assist communities impacted by the bushfires.
Panthers Community engagements -
The Penrith Panthers will arrive in Merimbula on Wednesday ahead of their NRL trial against the Parramatta Eels on Saturday.

Club officials said players and staff would embed themselves around the communities to pay tribute to local fire-fighters, while also visiting schools and engaging with fans.
The community are invited to meet and mingle with the players as the team enjoys dinner at the Lakeview Hotel on Wednesday from 6.45pm.
After arriving, the club will maintain a hectic schedule including school visits with a number of players to visit the students of Pambula Public School on Thursday afternoon.

There will be a Captain's Run at the Bega Recreation Ground on Friday from 9am with an informal meet-and-greet and signing sessions from about 10am.
Club officials are encouraging everyone to head along to the Captain's Run and the Lakeview dinner saying "the more the merrier".
The club will then face their long-time rivals in the Parramatta Eels in a pre-season trial at the Bega Recreation Ground on Saturday from 4pm.
