Member for Monaro John Barilaro and local MLC Bronnie Taylor visited the Cooma Monaro Historic Automobile Club on Friday to announce that its plans for a museum will become a reality, thanks to the Stronger Countries Community Fund.

Mr Barilaro said plans to build a museum provides a number of opportunities, including growing the club membership and attracting more tourists to the region.
"The entire community will benefit from this significant upgrade, with car enthusiasts travelling great distances to meet other clubs and to view unique vehicles and memorabilia," Mr Barilaro said.
"On top of the tourism benefits, this nearly $310,000 project will also help boost the local economy, by generating work for local tradespeople during the museum's construction."
Local MLC Bronnie Taylor said the Cooma Monaro Historic Automobile Club already provides a number of benefits for the region, with out of town car enthusiasts regularly travelling to Cooma for events and meetings.
"I'm excited to see the contribution of this club to the local community continue to grow and I know there will be a number of flow on benefits to the local economy," Minister Taylor said.
Cooma Monaro Historic Automobile Club President Kel Goodman said the museum has been a dream of the club's members for many years.
"We are thrilled that this dream can now become a reality. This fully functional museum will provide a huge boost to tourism in the region," Mr Goodman said.
"I thank Mr Barilaro for all his support over the years to help the club grow and I know the benefits of this museum will live on for many years."
Mr Barilaro said thanks to the Stronger Countries Communities Fund, $100 million was being distributed across regional NSW, with regional communities set to benefit from more than 550 new projects.
To date, rounds one and two of the program have funded more than 1,000 projects.
"We are funding grassroots projects that make a real difference to each community, and we know how important it is to support our regional towns with new infrastructure and programs."
The $400 million Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the NSW Government's $1.7 billion Regional Growth Fund, which is being invested in local programs and infrastructure that improve the lives of people living in regional NSW.
