The information is then gathered and published with the following week's Golden Oldie.
This week's Golden Oldie is of a well known Bombala family's four sons. Do you recognise these lads? We would love to hear from you if you do.
Last week's Golden Oldie was from the early years of Monaro County Council of the electricity supply organisation for the Monaro district from 1949 - 1995.
The people in the photo were councillors of the Monaro County Council in 1952. They are from back left R H Mznehan (Consulting Engineer), C Norton (Chief Engineer), G Healey (CMC), N L Hain (CMC), S H Litchfteld (SRS), P F Mooney (Monaro), F J Silk (Bombala), R C Jepsen (County Clerk).
Front: G Mawson (Bombala), M G Hook (CMC), AP Weston (SRS), ?, C Jennings (Bibbenluke) and T Darmody (Monaro).
The idea of forming a county council or a regional committee was discussed at a meeting on September 4, 1943 in Cooma at the Monaro Shire Council Chambers.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Cooma Municipal, Monaro Shire and Snowy River Shire Councils. Representatives from Bombala and Bibbenluke councils were unable to attend.
At the meeting it was proposed that a County Council could be formed for post-war reconstruction years and be responsible for; construction of aerodromes, housing, extension of electricity to rural areas and water schemes for town and rural areas.
