Spokesperson for the committee Annette Kennewell, said the most discussed item at the meeting was whether the conference would go ahead next May with the current COVID-19 restrictions for large gatherings.

"The committee concluded that we are planning that it will go ahead, but we won't know for certain until early 2021.

"With NSW not reporting a single locally acquired case of COVID-19 in the last week, the committee is feeling confident and optimistic the conference will take place," Ms Kennewell said.

Nelleke Gorton of Bega CWA reports she is continuing her focus on conference catering and has had discussions with Bega Hospital Auxiliary about lunches, plus the Bega and Tathra Lions Clubs regarding barbecue options.

Vicki Hummel of Bermagui CWA outlined options for table layouts and decorations for the Conference Bush Dance and Helen Galton of Bega CWA is booking entertainment for the Bush Dance. Alison Jenkins of Pambula-Merimbula CWA and Robyn Wright of Moruya CWA are finalising the printing of the conference raffle tickets.

Ms Kennewell of Tilba CWA said she had been in discussions with Bega Council to minimize waste at the conference.

"Cobargo Scouts will help with sorting waste into landfill, recycling and FOGO bins at Bega Showground and Bega Guides will help with Return and Earn drink containers.

"I am also continuing to work on the CWA bus tours to ensure visiting CWA members experience our unique Sapphire Coast region from Bermagui to Eden.

"We are planning tours that include cheese and/or oyster tasting in Bega, Tathra, Pambula and Central Tilba," she said.
