"We all thank Steve for his vision and commitment in establishing SMAG," Ms Porter said.

SMAG representing over 20 community groups across the new Snowy Monaro Regional Council area met in Bredbo recently.

At the meeting the group resolved to lobby council to extend the consultation on the proposed LEP until face to face meetings could be held.

"We are also very concerned about the proposed E Zones and will be making a strong submission to council on this and other concerns," Ms Porter said.

The meeting heard from David Porter from Bega about the disastrous effects of the E Zones when they were put into the Bega LEP in 2013.

"It can even make mowing your lawn illegal," Mr Porter told the meeting.

The meeting also considered the new S 355 document as well as the Crown land management procedure and the potential negative impacts on committee volunteers.
