Members played a Par for Club Trophy on Saturday with the winner Ross Brown with the good score of + 3. Balls were won by Ross, Paul Halligan and Colin Gronow + 2 with Ray Crawford getting the last ball with + 1.
Match Play: The Final of the 4 Ball Match Play was played and Ross Brown and Paul Halligan defeated Brendan Weston who had to compete on his own with partner out of town.
"It is maybe the last win on our course for Paul who is leaving us to move to Queensland in the next couple of weeks," a spokesperson for the club said. "Our best wish to you and your family in your semi- retirement and hope you can continue hitting that little white ball."
Congratulations Ross and Paul.
Saturday Night was Presentation Night.
"With the COVID restrictions compared to previous years it was a low key night but still an enjoyable evening. The night started with a serving of finger food and then we started the Presentation of Trophies won during the year.
"With the year we have all had to deal with it was amazing that we did complete the program after having to make so many changes during the year."
Di Ingram, Ladies Champion and Korie Elton, the Men's Champion were the first to receive their trophies. President Betty and captain Heather announced all the winners and presented them with their trophies.
"Jean, Heather and Joy having a very good year. Well done ladies."
Following the ladies, president Brendan and captain Joel proceeded to announce all the winners of the men's trophies won during the year.
"If it was a 4 Ball event it was a toss up to see if it was Westy and Wayne Elton 'Rub' or Pepper and Merv who was going to receive it. Rub had a big year on his own and with his partner Brendan Weston.
"Congratulations to all who went home with trophies and to those who missed out commiserations and good luck for next year.
"We must say a special to thank you to the men who took over the kitchen and looked after all those present. Good job chaps and you left a very clean kitchen. Thanks chaps proud of you."
Sunday was a small field, probably due to the very windy conditions or the effects of the night before.
The event was to be a 3 Ball Drop out but with uneven numbers it was changed to a Stableford for Club Trophy. The winner on a c/b was Brad Yelds with 33 pts from Merv Douch. These chaps were the ball winners.
NTP on the 7th was not won over the weekend. Proving to be little difficult to find the dance floor.
