At about 3.45pm, police received reports two males were in distress in the water at Bar Beach, Narooma.
Police were told the pair, aged 18 and 19, entered the water at the break wall before being swept about 200 metres north of the bar.
A male senior constable entered the water with a member of the public and the teens were assisted back to shore, with help from the surf lifesaving jet ski.
Narooma surf club's call out team also responded, but was stood down on arrival.
The men were assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics and did not require further treatment.
A second male senior constable assisted with the rescue coordination from the shore.
The incident is a reminder for swimmers to make safety a priority when in, on or around the water.
