Planning for additional events -
Council is currently in discussions with an experienced event organiser on options for organised rides and a range of off road events to be held in the Bombala area. More news in future editions.
Council is also working with East Gippsland Shire Council on activities to enhance future motorcycle events.
Bits ‘n’ Pieces

Community Development
Borderline Gallery -
The current exhibition features a beaut range of hand made items perfect for Christmas. The Gallery is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and the first Saturday of each month.
Cob Oven -
Tickets in the raffle are available from the VIC. The raffle will be drawn on Wednesday, December 2 at Bill Jefferys Park as part of the inaugural Full Moon community celebrations.
Each month a community event will be held at Bill Jefferys Park to raise funds for the walking track and other community projects.
The cob oven created by community members will be fired up and delicious pizzas/breads/cakes will be cooked.
Mosaic Tables -
Community members are decorating three tables to help brighten up the area. If you would like to help, come along to the VIC Saturday the 12 or 19 of December, no experience required.
Youth Development
Council has applied for funding to assist with Youth Week activities. At this stage activities are being planned for the BMX Track and options for regional events are being looked at.
Council is of course keen to hear from our youth as to other possible activities. If you have an idea please give us a call.
Our Regional Youth Worker is also working on activities for summer, including a cook off for Australia Day, and a very special day for our young girls.
Tourism Development
At the customer workshop held on Monday, November 9 ways to encourage additional tourism were discussed.
One of the suggestions was that businesses identify one or two things they would undertake in the next couple of months to improve the service given/appeal of their businesses.
Businesses are being provided with a simple form for them to fill in and return to the Council, who will send them back with the suggestions at the end of January to allow businesses to see if their planned initiatives were successful.
Businesses will be encouraged to share their successes at the February BADDA meeting.
