GAIL Smallman and Claire Strickland travelled to Ballina for the Hospital Auxiliaries Annual Conference last week.
We were thrilled to be awarded the Eleanor McKinnon trophy for most hours worked by a country auxiliary with 10 members or less.
When the award was announced a scream went up in the auditorium, not only from us but from the 31 members who had travelled with us on the bus.
Gail was presented the trophy by Melinda Pavey MLC Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Health.
The trophy was completely unexpected and is recognition of all the hours that our wonderful members have worked over the past year.
The trip to Ballina was long, but the friends we made with other Auxiliary members were a delight, a wonderful but busy week.
The NSW auxiliaries raised $9,506,405 and worked 800,000 hours in total.
