It was a sweet victory for Mr Chapman who had shown and won his prize Merinos in every state except Tasmania.
The trip across the Bass Strait was worth it with sheep from his Hinesville Merino and West Plains Poll Merino studs taking out champion medium wool Merino ram, supreme medium wool exhibit of the show, fine wool poll Merino ram, reserve grand champion poll merino ram and supreme March shown exhibit of the show.
Mr Chapman took seven sheep to Tasmania and collected four firsts and three seconds for his effort.
He also picked up orders for semen sales and rams while in the Apple Isle.
