BOMBALA’s new Chamber of Commerce has elected its executive committee and has urged business owners and farmers to jump on board.

Paul Perkins has been elected the inaugural president, Mal Hurley was appointed vice-president, Penny Campbell the secretary, and Stephen Cottrill treasurer.

The three committee members are Zoe Joseph, Margaret Cottrill and Tanya Ingram.

Bombala shire council’s economic development manager Karen Cash said the formation of the group was a positive step.

“I look forward to working closely with this group to benefit all the businesses in the region,” she said.

“At the next meeting we will be discussing what the group’s next point of business will be and I urge any business operators who are not already involved to come along to this meeting.”

The Chamber of Commerce plans to meet on the third Monday of the month.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, July 21, at 6pm, at the HACC Centre.
