Constable Marks said alcohol was a contributing factor in cases where a driver had lost control of a vehicle, crashing into another vehicle, pedestrian or a house.
“The outcome in these matters is grim and (Constable) Steve (Gay) and I would like it to stop,” Constable Marks said.
“We are aware of drivers in the area who believe they are exempt and this reminder is for those people.
“It is the law and we will not tolerate it.
“Alcohol related incidents have been on the increase and with the warmer weather approaching we would like all persons to be reminded that care must be taken.
“Alcohol fuelled violence is a big issue Australia-wide and police are targeting hotels and clubs in the attempt to reduce these incidents,” he said.
