DefenceCare is a charity and not-for-profit organisation helping current and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their families in times of injury, illness or crisis.
Local DefenceCare coordinator and organiser of the diorama project Ian Noormets is hoping there will be interest in the set of military figures.
“Members of the community that supported this project achieved two objectives they were, commemorating the 100 years of Gallipoli and on the other hand linking the project to modern day veteran’s needs,” Mr Noormets said.
“They should be proud of their achievements and their efforts have become local history.”
The local Narooma area community will have the first opportunity to purchase the complete set and have until March 3 to submit their expression of interest, as after this date he will be actively canvasing potential buyers outside the region.
“With the 100 year anniversary of the Charge of Beersheba on the horizon, it would be a great opportunity for one of the organisations that have strong Lighthorse associations to create a display of a high calibre to commemorate this advent,” he said.
Offers over $3500 will be considered, which is a considerable saving on the retail price, he said.
