The proposal is for a property at 9 Lawrence Avenue, Nowra, owned by NSW Health.
The original development application for the $2,844,000 Nowra Regional Oral Health Centre was made in 2014 to demolish the single storey residence on the property and build the centre with basement car parking for 14.
At the time it was proposed to have a purpose-built eight surgery health facility, replacing the existing undersized four surgery facility in the Nowra Community Health Centre at 5-7 Lawrence Avenue.
The new centre will operated from 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday and will have a maximum staff of 20.
It is estimated the actual staff each day would be between 14 to 16, equating to 12 patients an hour (assuming the durations of appointments is 30 minutes) or 70 patients per day.
The clinic currently employs 10 staff, treating eight patients an hour or 50 patients a day.
The new centre will cater for a variety of patients including children, disabled people and hospital patients on stretchers.
Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District Director of Oral Health, Dr Mark O’Connor and ISLHD Chief Executive Officer, Margot Mains have applied to delet the building classification.
