The corner block, including Thirroul Chiropractic upstairs, were damaged by hectic storms that lashed the Illawarra at the beginning of June.
Gallery co-owner Aaron Fell-Fracasso said it’s still around three weeks to completion but he’s just happy no-one was hurt.
Their next exhibition will be with new wave installation artist Henry Jock Walker, who’s known for his explosive use of colour, from mid-July for the “Scrambled Egg and Dart Experiment”.
The man with charm and charisma will hold a residency at the space until the end of the month, “basically making a mess of my beautiful white gallery”.
Fell-Fracasso said he’d work on some collaborative art with Walker before the building is ready for him do his magic, with a public performance scheduled for the official opening on Friday July 29.
He said he wasn’t sure what Walker would come up with but it would be colourful and a treat for passers-by to watch through the shop-front window.
