Essential Energy has been granted permission to slash 600 regional jobs by June 30, 2018 and make forcibly redundant an unlimited number of staff from July 1, 2018 onwards.
Electrical Trade Union organiser Mick Koppie said he had not idea when or where the cuts would be made.
“I suspect the bigger, more central depots may be more affected,” he said.
Member for Eden Monaro, Dr Mike Kelly said he was extremely concerned about the impact the job losses would have on families across the region.
Essential Energy has reduced their employee numbers by 1400 since 2010-11.
