On Wednesday the ladies played a flag, stroke for Club Trophy and there was also putting. Heather Brown had a great round with five shots still left when she sunk her putt on the 18th. She was the winner with the score of 65 nett from Gay Kennedy who also had a good round and having one shot still left. Balls were won by Gay Kennedy 69 nett and Jean McLean 71 nett. Joy Douch had her putter going well winning the ball for putts with 26.

On Saturday the Bombala ladies were well represented at the Delegate Open Tournament.
Jean McLean won the scratch in her division with 106. Joy Douch won the 9-hole handicap in her division. Heather Brown also won the 9-hole handicap in her division. Joy won the longest drive in division 1. Heather Brown won the longest drive in division 3.
On Saturday at home the members played a par for Club Trophy. Ross Brown was not going to be outdone by his wife, winning with +7 and the handicapper did get him. Balls were won by Ross, Glen Hampshire +5 and Wayne Elton +4. NTP was not won.
On Sunday the chaps travelled to Delegate for the Men’s Open. Bombala had a good field representing the club. Open winner was Leon Jones 74. Steve Tatham won the A grade handicap 68 nett. B grade nett won by Ray Fermor on 65. Ray Crawford won the A grade 9-hole nett. Merv Douch won the B grade 9-hole nett. Pepper Thompson won the B grade longest drive. Ray Fermor won the visitors trophy.

BOWLS
With “arfup”
Social bowls on Wednesday, October 4, saw another good roll-up due to good weather. K Elliott and M Guthrie 20 def P Jones and P Lomas 12 with Chris X playing swinger. K Callaway and C Ingram 31 defeated J Adamson and B Beileiter 19.
On Saturday, October 7 the first round of the minor singles sponsored by Billy’s place gifts and variety. In a marathon game played over 40 ends N Brotherton 32 defeated M Guthrie 28. The final of this event to be played by October 22.
On Sunday, October 8 the relay for life charity day was held. Some 20 odd bowlers participated for a game and barbecue and a good time was had by all. Winners were Ossie Benson and Kyle Richardson 21 defeated Wendy Crouch and Keven Callaway 7 - with a score of plus 14.
